The most delicate on earth: just a sea of charm
These adorable flying squirrels live in Japan and Siberia, in all areas from the Baltic sea to the Pacific ocean, and fall under the category of flying squirrels of the Old world. They do not hibernate, but in winter, sometimes they sleep soundly for a few days without a break.
In fact, they do not fly: flying squirrels glide through the air with a furry membrane which is located between the front and rear legs. They use this membrane to cover distances over 100 meters in the air, and it helps when they need to flee from predators or simply to get to another tree!
